About The Little Theatre Company

ishwariX

My name is Kaarin Fairfax and I am the Artistic Director of The Little Theatre Company. I have been part of the entertainment industry for over 30 years and in 2009 made the decision to begin teaching some of the things I have learned.

I am very proud of the team of Professionals we have working at The Little Theatre Company. Our projects are many and varied and the people and projects we are associated with are vibrant and exciting.

We at The Little Theatre Company are dedicated to bringing dynamic theatre and performance to the Peninsula, that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

The Little Theatre Company is dedicated to my father George Fairfax, John Truscott, Irene Mitchell and Brett Randall – the team that was The Little Theatre, which later became St. Martin’s Youth Arts Centre.

My name is Sally Baillieu and I am the General Manager of The Little Theatre Company. I have been working in the theatre since studying Media at RMIT in the 80’s.

After studying and a brief foray into film production, I began working with illuminations artist Roger Foley, AKA Ellis D Fogg, on installations in both Melbourne and Sydney before travelling to the UK where I worked for London Production Company Supotco, producing London Fashion week shows for six years. At the same time following my true love, theatre, I worked on productions in the London fringe and created a new fringe venue in Tufnel Park, North London and then eventually, in my last year in London, I worked for Duncan Weldon Productions in the West End.

After returning to Australia in 1994 and marrying, I have returned to my childhood home on the Mornington Peninsula where I now raise a family.

In 2007 as my children have grown a little older, I began working again, firstly at The Melbourne International Comedy festival, and at the same time I started up a theatre venue in Rye called Theatre@winelounge which showcased new musical/comedy theatre from Melbourne and Sydney.

In 2010 I met and began working with Kaarin Fairfax on a project with 3940 Arts in Rosebud and from that has begun a wonderful partnership with the Little  Theatre Company.
